Braulio "Bobby" Matias

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Bobby Matias, a cherished son, devoted father, loving fiancée, a brother and dedicated friend. Bobby was born on November 23, 1967, in Newark, NJ, to his beloved parents, Milagros Perez and the late Bienvenido Matias. He departed this world on July 2, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and love that will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew him.

Bobby is survived by his fiancée, Annette Maldonado, his daughter, Jasmin Santiago, his adoring granddaughters, Ari and Nani, and his sister, Lee Matias. His life was a tapestry of love, laughter, and dedication, woven together with profound care for his family and community.

In his professional life, Bobby was a beacon of hope and empowerment, serving as a director at Partnership for Peoples in Florham Park, NJ. He was deeply committed to mentoring and supporting individuals with disabilities, helping them lead fulfilling lives within their communities. His work involved job development, coaching, and promoting independence, as well as collaborating with local agencies to enhance the participation of those he served in community life. Bobby's career was more than a job to him; it was a calling that allowed him to touch countless lives with his kindness and generosity and spreading the love of Jesus!

Beyond his work, Bobby was a passionate individual with a zest for life. From an early age, he was drawn to skateboarding, hip hop music, and freestyle. His creative spirit found expression in DJing and a passion for airbrushing graffiti, as well as through his love of photography. New York City, with its vibrant energy, was his favorite place to be, and it was there that he often found inspiration.

Bobby's personal life was filled with joy and love. He cherished spending time with Annette, his partner; especially enjoying Broadway shows, Comic Con events, and sampling the culinary delights of various restaurants. His business Seed Sower graphics and Seed Media Ink was his utmost passion. Family was at the center of his world, and he relished every moment spent with his mother, daughter Jasmin, and his grandchildren, Ari and Nani.

His spiritual journey was enriched by his decade-long active membership at Victory Outreach Church, Newark, NJ where he was known for having a big heart and a passion for preaching the word. Bobby's faith was a guiding light, and he was always willing to help individuals in every aspect of their lives, offering support and encouragement to all he encountered.

A celebration of Bobby's life will be held on July 30, 2026, at 3:00 PM at Calvary Tabernacle Church, located at 69 Myrtle Avenue, Cranford, NJ. Inurnment will take place on Friday July 31, 2026 at Saint Gertrude's Cemetery, located at 53 Iman Ave Colonia NJ.. Friends and family are invited to gather in remembrance of a truly remarkable man whose light will continue to shine in the lives of man.
