With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Dionysios “Dennis” Spanos, a cherished husband, father, brother, and friend.Dennis was born and raised in Kefalonia, Greece. He served in the Greek Army. He embraced his Greek heritage. Dennis immigrated to the United States in 1973. He settled in Elizabeth, New Jersey. He was proud to be an American. Prior to his retirement, he mainly worked as a cook, and for some years co-owned the Oasis Diner in Passaic.
Dennis spent his life spreading laughter and kindness to everyone he met. His love for fishing and gardening was surpassed only by his love for his family, whom he nurtured with the same care and attention he gave to his garden.
Dennis is survived by his loving wife (Dina), children (Kathy and Jerry), siblings, and a community of friends who will continue to honor his memory by living with the same dignity and compassion he displayed everyday.
Rest in peace, beloved Dennis.
Your spirit and love will continue to blossom in our hearts.
