

Efrain Ramirez, 84, of Elizabeth, New Jersey passed away on Friday, February 16, 2024. Efrain was born on March 5, 1939 in Santa Rita, Oriente Cuba. He lived there with his parents Efrain Sr. and Hilda, along with his siblings Omar, Rodolfo, Omel, and Carmen. He remained there until the age of 17 when they moved to the city of Havana. He worked until he immigrated to the USA via Spain, where he lived for a few years. He lived in Elizabeth, NJ for the remainder of his life. He did factory work, and finally retired from maintenance work from Kean University in 2008. He was very intelligent, curious, innovative, and loved assembling things. He lost his vision in 2008, but remained independent until his death.
Worth mentioning is his valor and love for his family. In 1980, along with a friend, he embarked to Cuba in a boat through the Florida strait to rescue his entire family from the Cuban communist regime.
Efrain accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior in 1990, and was baptized in May 1991. He loved the Lord, and was a faithful servant giving his time and finances to the church and missions.
Efrain was predeceased by his Brother, Omar Ramirez.
He is survived by his Sister, Carmen Ramirez; Brothers, Omel Ramirez, Rodolfo Ramirez.
A graveside service for Efrain will be held Wednesday, February 21, 2024, 12:00 PM at Rosedale Cemetery, 355 East Linden Avenue, Linden, NJ 07036.
