He was born in Caibarien, Villa Clara, Cuba to his late parents, Maria Salado Perez and Alfredo Brana Marrero. He came to the United States in 1967.
As a young man in Cuba, he had a small boat for fishing. He enjoyed rowing out to sea. Also while in Cuba, he worked in Casa Faroy, which was a company that made trophies, and Enrique made the bases for the trophies.
Mr. Brana was a custodian/maintenance for RCA in Harrison for over 4 years, and also a custodian/maintenance for Kean College in Union, where he retired from in 1997 at the age of 72.
His hobbies included watching wrestling, baseball, classical music, opera, nature shows and birds. He spent as much time as he could in his garden planting tomatoes, parsley and cucumbers. He loved tending to his roses. He spent many moments in his basement making picture frames for his family members and friends. Enrique also made wooden matchboxes for matches that he would give to his loved ones and friends.
He loved his family intensely. He was the sweetest dad, grandfather and husband.
Enrique is survived by his wife of 61 years, Soledad, daughter Maria Nieves Brana Agostinho, son-in-law Filipe Agostinho, grandchildren, Kaitlin Marie Brana Agostinho and Nicholas Philip Brana Agostinho.
