George was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. He was the beloved husband of Michelle Martin McGuire, loving father to Michael McGuire, and proud grandfather to Sean McGuire who brought endless pride and joy into his life and Sean’s sister Zoe Liptak. He is also survived by his sister, Mary McGuire Saraco, nephew Neal Boudette, niece Robin Boudette and her husband Joe Wolfgang and many cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, George F. McGuire and Elizabeth Wood McGuire.
George dedicated decades of service to the City of Elizabeth as a foreman with the Elizabeth Recreation Department, where he was known for his good-natured leadership and enduring commitment to the department. He was a longtime member of the Daniel O’Connell Division of the Ancient Order of Hibernians in Elizabeth, embracing his Irish heritage with spirit and pride.
George will be remembered for his ever-cheerful nature, sharp wit, and infectious sense of humor. He found great joy in simple pleasures—especially fishing and crabbing along the Jersey Shore and growing tomatoes. Above all, he was a man deeply devoted to his family, and his love and laughter will be greaty missed.
On Tuesday, July 8, a viewing will be held at Krowicki McCracken Funeral Home, 2124 E. St. Georges Avenue, Linden, NJ from 4PM to 8PM. A mass celebrating George’s life will be held at St. Genevieve’s Church, 200 Monmouth Rd, Elizabeth on Wednesday, July 9 at 10AM. George will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew him.
