Giuseppa Sardo Sutera

Giuseppa Sardo Sutera (Sorce) of Elizabeth, NJ, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2026, at the age of 90. Born on February 22, 1936, in Ribera, Sicily, Giuseppa carried the heart of her homeland with her when she immigrated to the United States in 1967. Her strength, devotion, and deep love for family were the foundation of her life.

For 30 years, Giuseppa worked as a dedicated seamstress, known for her skillful hands and the care she put into every piece she created. She was an active member of the Peterstown Senior Citizen community in Elizabeth, where friendships blossomed into family and brought joy and companionship to her days.

Giuseppa was preceded in death by her parents, Giuseppe and Caterina Sorce; her beloved husband of 60 years, Antonino Sardo Sutera; her brothers, Vincenzo and Carmelo Sorce; her sister, Caterina Messina; her sister-in-law, Filomena Sorce; and her cherished grandson, Dominick.

She leaves behind her loving children: Salvatore (Eileen), Giuseppe, Carmelina Cassiba (Jerome), Charlie (Maria), and Anthony (Mary); her siblings, Geraldo Sorce (Theresa) and Sara LaRocca (Geraldo); and her sister-in-law, Antionetta Sorce.

Giuseppa was a devoted Nonna to her ten grandchildren - David, Jeffrey (Jess), Rosemarie, Joey, Aaron, Giavanna Conrad (Mike), Talia, Jessica, Julianna, and Olivia - and a proud great-grandmother to Grayson, Milani, Mason, and Nevaeh. She was also a beloved aunt to all her nieces and nephews. Her family was her greatest joy, and her love will continue to guide them always.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Ana #1 and Ana #2 for the care, compassion, and kindness they showed Giuseppa throughout the years.
