

Its with deep sadness that family announces the passing of Gloria Zuniga Castro at the age of 90 years old. She passed away peacefully in the good lord’s embrace on June 14th 2026 in her families home in Linden New Jersey.
Gloria was born on October 22, 1935, in Guayubín, Dominican Republic, to her loving parents, Maria Isabel and Meliton Castro. From a young age, she was known for her hardworking spirit, kindness, and dedication to her family. She grew up embracing the values of faith, love, and perseverance that would guide her throughout her life.
Gloria studied hairstyling and took great pride in helping others look and feel their best. She was also incredibly talented with her hands and enjoyed sewing beautiful dresses and crocheting in her spare time. Her creativity and attention to detail were evident in everything she made. Family and friends often admired the care and love she put into her work.
One of Gloria's greatest joys was spending time with her family. She loved gathering everyone together, cooking delicious meals, and filling her home with laughter. Her kitchen was a place where memories were made, and her recipes will continue to be cherished by those fortunate enough to enjoy them. Whether she was preparing a family meal or dancing the night away at celebrations, Gloria's warmth and energy brought people together.
In 1996, Gloria moved to the United States to live with her daughter, Nelsa Martinez. During her time here, she became a devoted grandmother and played an important role in helping raise her beloved grandchildren. She provided endless love, guidance, and support, creating bonds that will remain strong forever.
Gloria was the proud mother of two daughters, Nelsa Martinez and Giscela Diaz. She was also a loving grandmother to Estela Demerice Castro, Onel Martinez, and Onelvi Martinez. Her family was her greatest accomplishment, and she dedicated her life to ensuring they felt loved, cared for, and supported.
Those who knew Gloria will remember her for her generous heart, her strength, her unwavering faith, and her ability to make everyone feel welcome. She had a beautiful smile, a caring spirit, and a love for life that touched everyone she met. Her wisdom, compassion, and devotion to family will continue to inspire future generations.
Although Gloria is no longer with us physically, her love, lessons, and memories will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Her legacy is reflected in the family she cherished and the countless lives she touched throughout her 90 years. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
Visitation will be held at KROWICKI MCCRACKEN FUNERAL HOME, 2124 East Saint George Ave, Linden, NJ 07036, US, on June 23, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
A Committal Service will take place at Saint Gertrude Cemetery & Mausoleum, 53 Inman Ave, Woodbridge Township, NJ 07067, US, on June 24, 2026, from 10:30 am to 11:00 am.
