Gloria C. Di Maggio

Gloria Di Maggio, (Caruso), 103, a lifelong resident of Elizabeth, NJ, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at her daughter's home on August 19, 2023. Born in Elizabeth, NJ, Gloria was the fifth child of seven children, born to Nicholas and Rose Caruso (Scarpelli). She is predeceased by her beloved husband of 52 years, Frank. The two loved traveling around the world. She was a longtime member of St. Genevieve's Church in Elizabeth.

She graduated from Battin H.S. in Elizabeth, and after graduating from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, she worked for many years as a dietician at Alexian Brothers Hospital in Elizabeth.

Gloria enjoyed painting, and attributed her longevity to a daily walk, eating blueberries, dark chocolate and good wine.

She is survived by the loves of her life including her two daughters Nancy Burns (Robert deceased), Katherine Parsell (Russell) and her three devoted grandchildren, Krista Cerasoli (Phil), Tara Parsell and son Matthew Parsell (Moomal). Gloria is also survived by three wonderful great-grandchildren, Jake, Maxwell and Sydney Cerasoli.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Thursday, August 24, 2023 from 10:30-11:30AM at Krowicki McCracken Funeral Home, 2124 East St. George Avenue Linden. Funeral Mass will be held at 12:00 PM at St. Genevieve's Church, 200 Monmouth Road Elizabeth. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Hillside.
