Gregory E Sadowski Sr.

Gregory E. Sadowski Sr., 72, of Elizabeth, NJ, passed away peacefully on October 26, 2025. Born on January 28, 1953, in Elizabeth, NJ, Gregory was a resident of Elizabeth until 2016, when he moved to Bayonne to be closer to family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Gregory was predeceased by his parents, John and Elizabeth Sadowski; his infant children, John Joseph and Bridget Elizabeth; and his brother, Bernard Sadowski. He is survived by his devoted wife of 51 years, Maria Sadowski (DeSarno); his loving son and daughter-in-law, Gregory and Kasia Sadowski; his cherished grandchildren, Sofia, Lucas, and Nicholas; his dear sister, Marian Sadowski; and his brother-in-law Peter DeSarno and his wife Nancy.

A proud graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School, Class of 1971, Gregory began his career as a packaging mechanic at Bristol-Myers in Hillside, NJ, where he worked from 1971 to 1983. He later joined Schering-Plough, where he served as both packaging mechanic and supervisor until his retirement.

Outside of work, Gregory found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved bowling, fishing, gardening, and spending time in his garage, where he was happiest tinkering and working with his hands. His warmth, dedication, and quiet strength will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Visitation will be held at Krowicki McCracken Funeral Home, located at 2124 East Saint George Ave, Linden, NJ 07036, on November 6, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

A Funeral Mass will take place at St. Hedwig Roman Catholic Church, 600 Myrtle St., Elizabeth, NJ, on November 7, 2025, at 10:00 am.

The funeral will follow at Saint Gertrude Cemetery & Mausoleum, 53 Inman Ave, Colonia.
