Henrietta Nowak

Henrietta Nowak, age 95, of Freehold, New Jersey passed away Friday, October 29, 2021. Henrietta was born March 21, 1926, the second child of three for Anthony and Anastasia Blazinski. Henrietta along with her late brother, Alfred Blazinski and her sister, Jeanne Lindquist grew up in Jersey City during the great depression.

In 1947, she married Matthew Nowak and they were married for 55 years until his passing in 2002. They had five children Christine, Eugene (Donna), Len (Susan), Frank (Sandra), and Mary Ann, 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

Henrietta was a sweet soul who was truly loved by all those who knew her. She had a great love for food and no one left her home without a full belly. She was known for her pierogis and homemade apple pies made from the apple trees at her home in Linden. Henrietta had a knack for crafts and sewing as well. She worked as a seamstress for Morey La Rue until her retirement. She was known as the “crochet lady” at her assisted living residence in her later years, making numerous blankets for those in hospice.

Henrietta and her husband had a great love for one another and a great life together. They enjoyed traveling and went to places like Poland, Hawaii, Mexico, Alaska and numerous trips across country. They also enjoyed spending time with family and taking walks in the park with their dog, Chu Chu.

Henrietta truly was her family’s greatest blessing. She did not know how special she was. Her family will always cherish lasting memories of her and the way she touched their lives by just being herself.

A visitation for Henrietta will be held Friday, November 5, 2021 from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Krowicki McCracken Funeral Home, 2124 East Saint George Ave, Linden, NJ 07036. A prayer service will take place at the funeral home at 11:00AM. Following the prayer service will be a funeral from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at Holy Cross Cemetery, 340 Ridge Rd., N. Arlington, NJ 07031.
