

Henry was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey, to the late Frank and Phyllis Szewczyk. He grew up in Elizabeth, where he attended school, played basketball, and ran track. After graduation, he proudly served his country in the United States Navy for three years.
Following his military service, Henry enjoyed a successful career as a machinist with Thomas & Betts in Elizabeth, New Jersey, where he dedicated more than 30 years of service. His commitment to helping others extended beyond his career. He proudly served as a volunteer firefighter with the Colonia Fire Department for over 30 years and was honored to serve as Fire Chief from 1977 to 1978. His dedication to protecting his community earned him the respect and admiration of those who knew and served alongside him.
In 1965, Henry moved to Colonia, New Jersey, where he raised his family. Later, he lived in Sugar Hill, Georgia, before making Ozark, Missouri, his home in 2002.
Henry found joy in many hobbies and interests throughout his life. He was an avid coin collector and enjoyed creating digital content, always embracing new technology and creative pursuits. He loved country music and was happiest playing his harmonicas, taking photographs of the beauty he found in nature and everyday life, competing in horseshoe games, and sharing stories that brought laughter and smiles to family and friends. His warm personality, sense of humor, and appreciation for life's simple pleasures will be fondly remembered.
Above all else, Henry was a devoted father , grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is survived by his children, Cynthia Tamez, Henry Szewczyk, and Erik Szewczyk; six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; three nieces; one nephew; and many extended family members and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by wife Barbara Szewczyk, his parents, Frank and Phyllis Szewczyk, and his brother, Robert Szewczyk.
Henry's life was one of service, integrity, generosity, and love. Whether serving his country, protecting his community, providing for his family, or simply sharing music and stories with those he loved, he touched countless lives. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
