Jacques Kavanagh

Jacques Kavanagh was born on September 15, 1961, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, to parents Marie Italia Germain and the late Edouard Kavanagh. Our dear Jacques departed this life on June 2, 2025, at RWJ Rahway Hospital, with his daughters by his side. He was 63 years old.

Jacques was a devoted father and a deeply responsible man. Calm, reserved, and thoughtful, he cared deeply for the well-being of his family. An avid sports fan, he spent many weekends watching soccer, basketball, and American football. His dream game day would have been to watch the New York Giants play live in the stadium. Jacques also had a great love for Haitian music. His favorite band was “Caribbean Sextet,” and his favorite song, Kite Yo Pale, brought him much joy.

He is predeceased by his father, Edouard Kavanagh; his brother, Leonard C. Kavanagh; and his former wife, Christine Kavanagh.

Jacques is survived by his mother, Marie Italia Germain; his four sisters, Mariette, Margarette, Lucie, Nancy and three brothers, Eddy, Edouard, Ricardo; his daughters, Leila Kavanagh and Norha Bush; his sons, Chris and Cayard Kavanagh; and his wife, Danielle Kavanagh. He was also blessed to be the uncle of several nieces and nephews, and a cousin to many more.

A visitation for Jacques will be held Monday, June 9, 2025 from 8:00 AM to 10:30 AM at KROWICKI MCCRACKEN FUNERAL HOME, 2124 East Saint George Ave, Linden, NJ 07036. A religious ceremony will take place on Monday, June 9, 2025 , 11:00 AM at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Roman Catholic Church, 220 E Blancke St, Linden, NJ 07036. Committal will follow at Rosedale Cemetery, 750 E Linden Ave, Linden, NJ 07036.
