Janina raised her children for 42 years in Linden, NJ and was a devote parishioner of St. Teresa of the Child Jesus Church. She worked nights doing manual labor with great physical demands and retired from FedEx/Kinkos after 25 years of service as a press operator.
A devoted matriarch, Janina was known for her incredible cooking and her love of gardening. She was the heart of her family, often found making pierogis and golumpkis from scratch. Her kitchen was a place of endless welcome, greeting everyone with a hug and a smile, her love was the glue that held the family together.
She is survived by her beloved children Andy, Steve and Tom Bara; her daughter-in-law Ali and grandson Rocco who was the light of her life; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jozef Bara.
To the family she joined by marriage, she was more than a mother-in-law; she was a friend and a cherished link to her proud Polish heritage. Her legacy of hard work, kindness, resilience and hospitality will live on in the hearts of all who loved her.
A wake will be held on Thursday beginning at 8:30am at Krowicki McCracken Funeral Home in Linden.
