Josephine M Pirrong

Josephine Mary Pirrong, 74, of Elizabeth, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on April 4, 2026. Born on February 6, 1952, in Elizabeth, New Jersey, she was the firstborn child of the late Gino and Rose Bortone.

Lovingly known as “Jo,” she found joy in playing billiards, trying her luck on the slot machines at the casino, cheering on the Green Bay Packers, and caring for her many indoor and outdoor animals. Jo dedicated 30 years of service to Prudential Financial, where she worked with pride and commitment.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Donald, with whom she shared 53 years of marriage; her son, David; and her cherished grandchildren, Samarra and Benjamin, of Bordentown, New Jersey. She is also survived by her two sisters, Gina O’Brien of Paramus, New Jersey, and Antoniette Primavera of Edison, New Jersey; and her brother, Anthony Bortone of Bushkill, Pennsylvania.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 10, 2026 at Krowicki McCracken Funeral Home in Linden, New Jersey, from 9:00 am to 10:30 am, followed by a Prayer Service at 11:00 am. Committal will follow at Woodbridge Memorial Gardens in Woodbridge, New Jersey.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Jo’s memory to animal welfare causes, such as the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA).

Funeral services will take place at Woodbridge Memorial Gardens, US-1 North, North, Woodbridge Township, NJ 08830, US, on April 10, 2026, from 12:30 pm to 1:00 pm.
