Linda-Christine Elizabeth Lawson-Abrahams, transitioned on October 24, 2021 at the age of 61, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by loved ones, who will carry on her memory forever.
Linda was born March 7, 1960 in Kingston Jamaica to Roy Abrahams and June Lawson. Linda moved to Brooklyn, NY in 1966. She always strived to better herself. Linda had her first and only child, Melanie Abrahams in 1982. Shortly after, Linda started her career with New Jersey Transit in 1983 as a Ticket Agent retiring as a Senior Trainmaster on April 1, 2016. While working full time at New Jersey Transit Linda attended CUNY-Medgar Evers College on nights and weekends and graduated with honors with her bachelors degree in nursing. One of Linda’s proudest moments was purchasing her first home in 2017. Linda was an avid reader, enthusiastic about learning new things and sharing her knowledge with others. She was very good at writing and public speaking, She loved the beach and laying out to get the perfect golden tan that she was known for. She was excited to learn, play and teach the game of Mahjong, something she enjoyed playing with her beloved neighbors and friends in her community. Linda also enjoyed tending to her plants and her beloved dog Bentley, Most of all, Linda Christine enjoyed spending time with her grandson Kayden who brought her great joy and laughter.
Linda was preceded by her grandparents Hopeton and Linda Powell, her mother June Veronica Lawson-Lineman, and her brother William F. Lineman III.
Linda is survived by her daughter Melanie Abrahams, her stepson and stepdaughters Gary, Tanice and Hope Domain, her brothers Marcus Ellis and John Lineman, her Sisters Althea, Eleanor, Natalie Abrahams, Coleen Turner, and Sharon Haughton Nieces Alexa, Annika, Danielle, Kayleen, Kianna, Patricia, and Thandi. Nephews Christopher, David, Devon, Justin, Taj, Terrell, Theodore, Zachary and Her beloved grandson Kayden Abrahams-Smith.
Linda’s loving spirit will be remembered in all of our hearts forever.
A visitation for Linda-Christine will be held Friday, November 5, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Krowicki McCracken Funeral Home, 2124 East Saint George Ave, Linden, NJ 07036, with prayer service at 7:00PM.
