October 10, 1918 – October 5, 2019
Flor Maria Agudelo (née Franco) passed peacefully and was thus born to eternal life at the age of 100 on Saturday, October 5th, 2019 in Elizabeth, New Jersey. She was a seamstress who along with her late husband, Luis Agudelo, had founded her own shop in her native Colombia...in the city of Cali. She immigrated to the United States where she resided in Elizabeth for half a century. Her witty sense of humor, unshakable faith in Roman Catholicism, devotion to the recitation of the rosary and daily meditation of Sacred Scripture (to always include Psalm 23), with the aid of a magnifying glass in her last decade, best characterized her petite frame and enormously majestic soul. She was the mother of four children: Martha, William, Dorian and Luis, of which she survived the first two. She is grandmother to nine grandchildren:
Luz Helena Agudelo Luis Fernando Agudelo Yaneth Agudelo William Agudelo Maria E Agudelo Liliana Soto-Cabrera Allan Agudelo Edison Soto Jessica Agudelo
...14 great-grand children Edwin Alexander Cardona Linnete Agudelo Jaison Riaño Katherine Agudelo William Agudelo Juan Fernando Agudelo Valentina Agudelo Sebastian Castañeda Catalina Castañeda Veronica Caballero Jonavin Soto Donavin Soto Aaron Agudelo Luke Agudelo
...and eight great-great grandchildren Nicolas Riaño Mariana Riaño Helen Cardona Juan Camilo Cardona Syrian Mondesir Luciano Dure Gianna Rose Caballero Luciana Rose Caballero
