Marie Mona St. Hilaire

Marie, a beloved mother, sister, and cherished soul, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2026. Her life was a quiet, radiant testament to the strength of a gentle heart and the faith of a woman who walked closely with God.

Born in Cap-Haïtien, Haiti, to Michel Toussaint and Elia Charles, Marie was the youngest of nine children, preceded by her siblings Christian, Yolande, Rosie, Madeleine, Edouard, Elie, Necker, and Aline.

In 1979, she married Yonel St. Hilaire and in 1981, they journeyed to the United States in pursuit of a life filled with promise and possibility.

Marie was blessed with two daughters, Sheila and Stacy, whom she adored beyond measure. To them, she was home, warmth, laughter, and unwavering devotion. She spoiled them joyfully, prayed with them faithfully, and loved them with a tenderness that felt heaven-sent.

Marie loved God deeply and delighted in the stories of the Bible. Her faith was not loud; it was lived. Every night, she gathered with her daughters in a prayer circle, their voices rising together in gratitude and hope. Each prayer ended with the words she cherished: "It is well, in the name of Jesus." Even now, it is well.

For more than 30 years, Marie worked in the manufacturing industry, laboring with quiet strength and steadfast purpose. She knew sacrifice intimately, yet she never allowed hardship to steal her tenderness. Her strength was gentle, enduring, and full of grace, rooted in faith and sustained by love.

Marie carried a delicacy that felt almost sacred. Life tested her, but she refused to let bitterness take root. She spoke with a light chuckle, as though joy lived close to her lips. Her smile was warm, steady, and reassuring. In her presence, the world felt a little lighter.

She cherished the simple pleasures that make a life feel full: cooking and sharing good food, dancing with joy, taking road trips, and gathering with family. Thanksgiving was her favorite. Laughter rising from the table, stories shared, memories made, and love woven into every dish.

Marie loved in quiet, powerful ways. Her care lived in the meals she prepared, the laughter she sparked, the tenderness she offered, and the gentle spirit she carried into every room. She did not need grand gestures; her love was felt in the everyday moments that linger long after they pass.

She leaves behind her daughters, Sheila and Stacy, and family and friends who will carry her memory with gratitude, reverence, and unending love.
