Miguelina Fernandes

Miguelina Fernandes, 67, of Linden, New Jersey, passed away on June 20, 2026, leaving behind a family whose lives she shaped in ways words can barely capture. Born in the Dominican Republic, she made Linden, New Jersey her home and the place where she built a life full of love.

Miguelina was many things to many people — a devoted wife, a proud mother, a loving grandmother — but above all, she was a presence that made every room feel safer and every heart feel fuller. Those who knew her knew that her door was always open, her arms were always ready and her kindness never had conditions.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Antonio Fernandes; her son, Richard Fernandes; daughter-in-law, Susie Fernandes; and her two grandchildren, Aiden and Abigail Fernandes, who will carry her love with them for the rest of their lives.

Family was everything to Miguelina. She loved Antonio deeply and faithfully. She was endlessly proud of Richard, and she welcomed Susie into her heart as her own. Aiden and Abigail brought her a joy that only grandchildren can — in them, she saw the best of everything she had given. She measured her life not in achievements, but in the people she loved and the love she gave back.

She will be deeply missed and forever loved. A private cremation took place as requested by the family.
