

Oliva was born on March 20, 1938, in Titiribí, Antioquia, Colombia, to her parents, Laura Rosa Quiros and José Gabriel Hernandez. She later married her beloved husband, Ovidio D. Taborda, in Medellín, Colombia, on April 20, 1964.
Shortly after their marriage, Oliva embarked on a courageous journey to the United States in pursuit of the American Dream. Her husband joined her a year later, and together, through determination, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment, they built a life rooted in family and community.
Oliva and Ovidio established T&G Food Store, a convenience store in the Bayway section of Elizabeth, New Jersey. Through their dedication and hard work, the store became an integral part of the community and has remained so for more than fifty years, serving generations of families and neighbors.
Oliva was predeceased by her husband, Ovidio D. Taborda. She is survived by her loving sons, Richard Taborda and William Taborda; her daughter-in-law, Katherine Taborda; and her cherished grandchildren, Alexa Taborda, Vanessa Taborda, Liliana Taborda, and Isabella Taborda.
She will be remembered for her strength, her generosity, and the lasting impact she made on both her family and her community.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Oliva’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, her favorite charity.
Visitation will be held at KROWICKI MCCRACKEN FUNERAL HOME, 2124 East Saint George Ave, Linden, NJ 07036, US, on June 4, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
A Funeral Mass will take place at St. Mary of the Assumption, 155 Washington Ave, Elizabeth, NJ 07202, US, on June 5, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
Entombment will follow at Rosehill Cemetery, 750 E Linden Ave, Linden, NJ 07036, US, on June 5, 2026, from 11:30 am to 12:00 pm.
