It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Orietta Rodriguez, who passed away on June 23, 2026, at New York Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center in New York at the age of 70.

Born on June 9, 1956, in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, Orietta built a remarkable life defined by unwavering love, selfless service, and extraordinary dedication to both her family and her profession. She made her home in Elizabeth, New Jersey, where she became a beloved friend, colleague, mother, grandmother, and the heart of her family.

Orietta devoted more than 45 years of her professional life to the same healthcare institution. She began her career at Elizabeth General Medical Center (EGMC), which in 2000 became Trinitas Regional Medical Center and, in 2022, became part of RWJBarnabas Health. For more than three decades, Orietta faithfully served as Executive Assistant to the President and Chief Executive Officer, providing steadfast leadership and support to three successive Presidents. She was admired for her professionalism, loyalty, integrity, and commitment to excellence, earning the respect and admiration of countless colleagues throughout her distinguished career.

While her career was impressive, it was her love for others that truly defined her life. Orietta's greatest passion was cooking. A gifted culinary artist, she pursued formal training at the Institute of Culinary Education in New York City, where she became a professionally trained chef. Her kitchen was a place of joy, creativity, and togetherness. She delighted in preparing extravagant meals that brought family and friends together, creating memories that will be cherished for generations. She also had an adventurous spirit and found great happiness traveling the world, embracing new cultures, cuisines, and experiences.

Above all else, Orietta was the matriarch of her family—the foundation upon which everyone relied and the glue that held everyone together. She possessed an incredibly generous heart and was always willing to go above and beyond to help anyone in need. Her compassion, strength, wisdom, and unconditional love touched every life she encountered.

Orietta is survived by her loving sons, Allan Cabrera and Emmanuel Collado; her cherished grandchildren, Elijah Collado, Emma Collado, and Alessa Cabrera; her beloved sister, Lucy Ricart; and her dear brothers, Andres Ricart and Jose Armando Rodriguez. Her family was her greatest pride and deepest joy, and the love she poured into each of them will continue to guide and inspire them throughout their lives.

Orietta leaves behind a legacy of kindness, resilience, generosity, and unwavering devotion to family. Though she is no longer with us in body, her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing and loving her. Her lessons, traditions, laughter, and love will continue to be carried forward by the family she so faithfully nurtured.

In accordance with Orietta's wishes, funeral services will be private and limited to close family and friends. A private service will be held on July 6, 2026, where Orietta will be laid to rest beside her beloved mother, Gloria Ricart, at Rosedale Cemetery in Linden, New Jersey.

Nacida el 9 de junio de 1956 en Santo Domingo, República Dominicana, Orietta construyó una vida extraordinaria, marcada por un amor inquebrantable, un servicio desinteresado y una dedicación excepcional tanto a su familia como a su profesión. Estableció su hogar en Elizabeth, Nueva Jersey, donde llegó a ser una querida amiga, compañera de trabajo, madre, abuela y el corazón de su familia.

Orietta dedicó más de 45 años de su vida profesional a la misma institución de salud. Inició su carrera en Elizabeth General Medical Center (EGMC), institución que en el año 2000 se fusionó para crear Trinitas Regional Medical Center y que, en 2022, pasó a formar parte de RWJBarnabas Health. Durante más de tres décadas, se desempeñó con gran compromiso como Asistente Ejecutiva del Presidente y Director Ejecutivo (CEO), brindando un liderazgo constante y un apoyo invaluable a tres Presidentes consecutivos. Fue ampliamente admirada por su profesionalismo, lealtad, integridad y búsqueda constante de la excelencia, ganándose el respeto y la admiración de innumerables colegas a lo largo de su distinguida trayectoria.

Aunque su carrera fue admirable, lo que realmente definió su vida fue el amor que entregó a los demás. La mayor pasión de Orietta era la cocina. Dotada de un talento excepcional para las artes culinarias, realizó estudios formales en el Institute of Culinary Education de la ciudad de Nueva York, donde obtuvo su formación profesional como chef. Su cocina era un lugar de alegría, creatividad y unión familiar. Disfrutaba preparando elaborados y exquisitos platillos para sus familiares y amigos, creando recuerdos que permanecerán para siempre en sus corazones. Además, poseía un espíritu aventurero y encontraba una inmensa felicidad viajando por el mundo, descubriendo nuevas culturas, gastronomías y experiencias.

Por encima de todo, Orietta fue la matriarca de su familia: el pilar sobre el cual todos podían apoyarse y el lazo que mantenía a la familia siempre unida. Tenía un corazón inmensamente generoso y siempre estaba dispuesta a hacer mucho más de lo esperado para ayudar a quien lo necesitara. Su compasión, fortaleza, sabiduría y amor incondicional dejaron una huella imborrable en todas las personas que tuvieron la fortuna de conocerla.

Orietta deja para honrar su memoria a sus amados hijos, Allan Cabrera y Emmanuel Collado; a sus adorados nietos, Elijah Collado, Emma Collado y Alessa Cabrera; a su querida hermana, Lucy Ricart; y a sus apreciados hermanos, Andrés Ricart y José Armando Rodríguez. Su familia fue su mayor orgullo y la fuente de su más profunda felicidad, y el amor que sembró en cada uno de ellos continuará guiándolos e inspirándolos por el resto de sus vidas.

Orietta deja un legado de bondad, fortaleza, generosidad y una entrega incondicional a su familia. De acuerdo con los deseos de Orietta, los servicios fúnebres serán privados y estarán limitados a familiares cercanos y amigos. Se realizará un servicio privado el 6 de julio de 2026, donde Orietta será sepultada junto a su querida madre, Gloria Ricart, en el Cementerio Rosedale, en Linden, Nueva Jersey.
