Phillip Abraham Blechman, age 63, of Linden, New Jersey passed away on Monday, September 14, 2020. Phillip was born March 2, 1957 in Cayey, Puerto Rico to the late Mario and Norma Blechman. He was an avid member of the Nissan 350z Car Club and loved his car dearly. Phillip would attend car shows and competitions and would consistently place 1st. All who knew Phillip knows how much his family meant to him. He would spend as much time with his loving daughters and wife whenever he could, cooking the most amazing food and enjoying family time. After retiring from the Police department in Puerto Rico, he became an automotive technician and did all the work on his own vehicles. Often called a true gentleman, optimist, and the life of the party, Phillip was more commonly called the greatest father and husband a family could ask for.

Phillip is survived by his amazing wife of 40 years, Maria Blechman, daughter Melanie Padilla and husband Eric, daughter Stephanie Blechman Pathak and husband Sanket, daughter Amy Lawrence and husband Ben, granddaughter Belvie Lawrence, grandson Eric Padilla Jr, fur babies Ellie, Olivia, and Barkley. Phillip is also survived and loved by his sister Judith Blechman and wife Maria's extended family.

With Phillip, every time myself and the family got together, I always felt a genuine love and warmth Coming from this beautiful man. There was always a great sweet smile, a pleasant greeting and if you were lucky, and we all were... a nice Loved filled hug.
We should all live to be the person he will always be...
In our hearts, our thoughts, and in all we see And hear that will remind us of him And make us...smile.
Now hears my memory at Stephanies wedding me nolo, Richard and Phillip were all laughing because we were talking about who’s aging better. Lol, who was the good looking one.
It was a moment that I will always cherish.
But you all know who won... lol.
Phillip, you Have impacted us all In so many ways.

On behalf of the Vazquez Family I want to express our deepest sympathy for the loss of your dear husband, father and our friend Phillip. This is one of those times that words cannot fully express the void left by his passing. We feel blessed to have had Phillip in our lives. His humble demeanor and quirky sense of humor will be sorely missed. More than a friend Phillip was and will continue to be a part of our family. He will always be in our hearts. We are consoled only by knowing someday we will be together once more making new memories and laughing at his jokes…this time for eternity. Our prayers go to the Blechman family Vie, Melanie, Stephanie, Amy and the entire extended family. Lastly allow us to leave you with this verse:

1 Thessalonians 4:13-14
13 Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. 14 For we believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.

Our hearts are broken at hearing of Philip’s passing. What an amazing, talented & funny person he was!! He was truly a “Family Man” in every sense of the words. His love for them shined through in all he did. He was an awesome cook, great mechanic and an Undercover Comedian! I don’t even think he knew how funny he was! But we knew and share those funny memories often between each other. We will miss him dearly. Our hearts and prayers go out to Maria, Melanie, Stephanie, Amy (Belvie) and their extended Families. Please know that we are here for you in your difficult time and always. Love, Lamont & Debbie Stapleton & Family ❤️❤️
