Born in Elizabeth, he attended St. Hedwig's Grammar School, and graduated from Thomas Edison Vocational High School in 1955. He was a graduate of Seton Hall University with an undergraduate degree in accounting and two masters degrees in finance and international business. Ronald was an Army Veteran, stationed in Okinawa. He was a communicant of St. Hedwig's Church, where he served as an altar boy for many years, also a very active communicant of St. Theresa's Church, where he served as an usher and was a member of Knights of Columbus. In 2006 Mr. Stefanowicz was honored as the Grand Marshal of the Pulaski Day Parade of St. Theresa Church, and was congratulated by the Regional Arch Bishop. He was a member of the American Legion, always available to place flags and wreaths on veteran graves. Also a member of the Linden PAL and little league baseball.
Ronald was employed by Merck & Co. for 25 years. He then worked for Warner Lambert/Pfizer as a professional certified international business consultant, providing services to a Fortune 500 Corp. In total, he has worked in over 60 countries. After his retirement, he worked for the City of Linden, relocating businesses to vacant sites.
Mr. Stefanowicz was the beloved husband of Rose, devoted father of Ronald and Robert, loving brother of Stan and Joan Murphy. Cherished grandfather of Ronald Mark, John Robert, Samuel and Isla Rose.
Viewing will be held at Krowicki McCracken Funeral Home, 2124 East Saint Georges Ave, Linden NJ on Monday June 1, 2020 from 10:00AM to 12PM until the time of service. There will be a 10 person limit at a time inside the funeral home. Gloves and masks are required to enter. Entombment will follow at the Somerset Hills Memorial Park, Basking Ridge NJ.
