Rose Sylvina Charles, 89 years old, went to her heavenly home on Thursday, April 13, 2023 at 930pm. Sister Rose was born Rose Sylvina Morissaint on July 29, 1933, to Caridad Chery and Morenat Morissaint. After a brief childhood illness that almost claimed her life, Sister Rose gave her life to Christ at the tender age of 10. She was healed and was later instrumental in leading her entire family to Christ. She later married the late Reverend Dr. Jean Charles. She was a devoted wife and a loving mother to three children. She then migrated to the United States in 1971 to join her husband. Sister Rose later became the founding first lady of Haitian Bethany Baptist Church in Elizabeth, NJ. She was very active in church activities and continued to serve the Lord in that capacity. After she retired, she continued her work by participating in several prayer lines. She was a prayer warrior for the sick, the elderly, and practically everyone she knew. Her last words were “Father, give us the strength to do your will, give us peace and security”.
