Our beloved son, brother, & friend, Rubens Karl Raymond Germain has passed away on March 26th, 2024 in Austin, Texas at the age of thirty-one. He was born on April 9th, 1992, in Port au Prince, Haiti, to his parents Pierre Marie and Robenson Germain. He migrated to the United States on December 17, 1992, alongside his parents and older brother.
Rubens moved to Roselle, New Jersey in 2000 and graduated from Abraham Clark High School in 2012. During his time there, he was a dedicated student and an active member of the Junior ROTC, in which he served as Second Lieutenant Commander. He went on to graduate from Lincoln Tech University with an Automotive Degree and an AES Automotive Certification. He then attended Union County College in 2015 and obtained an associates degree in paralegal studies. He later pursued a career in Internet Technology & Security and earned a CompTIA A+ certificate.
In his free time, Rubens enjoyed competing in the Tri-State New Jersey Spartan Competitions and playing video games like Elder Scrolls V Skyrim. He enjoyed watching The Green Bay Packers play and going to the New Jersey Devils hockey games. Rubens was a die-hard Pokémon fan who loved collecting Pokémon cards. He had a sweet tooth and enjoyed eating zebra cakes. Additionally, he had a passion for reading books about finances and classics like Moby Dick.
Rubens was a man of honor and courage. His honesty and tireless work ethic were the bedrock of his character. He was selfless and intelligent, navigating life's complexities with a steady, composed tone. Though he never sought the spotlight, his presence commanded respect, and he made a quiet impact on those around him. Rubens moved through the world with a gentle grace, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Rubens was survived by his maternal grandparents, Brutus and Suzanne Pierre, and his parents, Pierre Marie and Robenson Germain, his fiancé Angela and older brother Carls Hallings Germain and fiancé Laura Wagner, younger sister, Jessica Germain-Mbolu, husband Dr. George Mbolu Jr, and their newborn daughter, Emery E. Mbolu. He was survived he family members Marie J Charles, Roseline Extanus, Mirlande Aimalle, Katia Emanuella Pierre, Edmonde Raymond, Annette Emanuella Pierre, Joanne Charles, Maudirat Raymond, Wilfred Raymond, Mack Raymond, Charles Brunel Pierre, Jean-Claude Pierre, Ronald Pierre, Charles Densley, Mackendy Charles, Grand-Uncle Adler Thompson I, Sherlande Pierre, Renaldy Pierre, Christie Pierre, Aland Aimable, Marvin Aimable, Angeline Charles, Bruno Dieujuste, Wislet Dieujuste and Marvin Dieujuste just to name a few.
Visitation for Rubens will be held Friday, April 12, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Krowicki McCracken Funeral Home, 2124 East Saint George Ave, Linden.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the funeral on Saturday, April 13, 2024, directly at St. Joseph's RC Church, Roselle at 10:00 am. Entombment St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia.
