Born on May 27, 1967, in Elizabeth, New Jersey, Sonia was a beloved mother, daughter, sister, and aunt whose warmth, kindness, and unwavering faith touched all who knew her. She worked as a medical assistant and aspired to become a nurse, dedicating herself to helping and caring for others.
For 33 years, Sonia courageously battled multiple sclerosis with remarkable strength, resilience, and grace. Despite the physical challenges she endured, she never allowed her illness to define her or diminish her spirit. Her determination, optimism, and steadfast trust in God served as an inspiration to her family, friends, and everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Sonia's Christian faith was the foundation of her life. She maintained a deep and personal relationship with God, finding comfort, strength, and peace through prayer and scripture. Her faith guided her through life's greatest challenges and was reflected in the compassion and love she showed to others every day.
Above all else, Sonia cherished her family. She was immensely proud of her two sons, Moises and Joshua, whose accomplishments, character, and happiness brought her endless joy. She also shared a special bond with her daughter-in-law, Nicole, whom she loved deeply and considered one of her greatest blessings.
Sonia found great happiness in reading, often immersing herself in books and escaping to new worlds through the stories she loved. She was also a devoted animal lover with a special place in her heart for all creatures, great and small. She always took an interest in the well-being of her family's pets, never missing an opportunity to ask about them and make sure they were happy, healthy, and loved.
Sonia is survived by her loving mother, Alice; her sons, Moises and Joshua, and her cherished daughter-in-law, Nicole; her sisters, Nancy (Alex) and Diane (Gary); her brothers, David, Frankie (Evelyn), Erick (Portia), Nicky (Kate), and Andy (Jenn); and 27 beloved nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved dearly.
