Sony Aime was born on December 23, 1960 in Port-au-Prince, Haiti to the parents of the late Legina Zetrène & Augustin Aime. He was the youngest of 3 brothers; before migrating to the United States he was supported by not only his parents but also his eldest brother the late Jean-Caude Aime.
Sony attended primary school at E’cole Mixte du Sacre Coeur, then proceeded to secondary school at College Constant D’Pognon where he completed his degree.
For recreation as a young teen in Haiti he enjoyed going to cinemas, parties, and beautiful beaches with his then girlfriend Altagrace, close cousins, and friends. However nothing trumps his passion for soccer.
In December 1985, he migrated to the United States and lived in Elizabeth, NJ where he joined his late mother in search of more opportunities. Soon after his arrival, Sony and Altagrace were married in July of 1989 and have been inseparable for 33 years. During their years together many memories were cultivated for example when traveling on cruises, collecting souvenirs and capturing unforgettable moments with photographs.
Sony was a hardworking and dedicated person who always ensured his home never went in need. To all he was known to be a well respected man with great dignity, intelligence, love and humor that could not be matched. Sony was a loving husband, son, brother, cousin and friend but most of all he was a tremendous positive influence to many.
On January 6, 2022, Sony was called home to be with the Lord. He will be greatly missed by all who had the honor of knowing him. Mother-in-law Carmene Fortune; brother/sister-in-law Gardy & Roseline Fortune.
