William Peters

Born June 9, 1955, he was predeceased by his loving parents, William and Cecilia Peters. He is survived by his devoted wife and best friend, Christine Nicol-Peters. He was the proud and loving father of Ryan and his wife Kristy, and Meaghan, and the grandfather to Matthew, Bella, Jonas and Noah. He is also survived by his brother Robert, and his sisters MaryEllen, Patty and Eileen and their husbands, as well as his brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and countless dear friends who will forever hold his memory close. He was also predeceased by his loyal four-legged companion, Kara, who no doubt greeted him with tail wagging on the other side.

Bill proudly served the Township of Cranford Police Department for 25 years, retiring as Sergeant in 2005. His dedication to protecting and serving his community was a source of great pride. After retirement, he continued his commitment to public service working in security at Union County College for 15 years. Bill was an avid football fan and enjoyed watching the game.

To those who knew him, Bill was more than a husband, father, brother or friend, his love ran deep and true. He was loyal, funny and stubborn in all the best ways. Though his passing leaves an emptiness that words can’t fill, his love and spirit will live on through every story shared, every laugh remembered and every moment we hold close in our hearts.

Fly high, Bill, Rest easy. You were deeply loved and will never be forgotten.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

A visitation will be held at Krowicki McCracken Funeral Home, 2124 East Saint Georges Ave, Linden, NJ 07036. From 4-8 PM on Thursday, October 23rd, 2025.

A prayer service will take place the following morning, Friday, October 24th, 2025 at 10am at Krowicki McCracken Funeral Home.

The committal service will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery, 1000 E Edgar Rd, Linden, NJ 07036.
