Just a few words of memories.  

              Met Mrs. Guevara a few years ago and was instantly, warmly accepted and as one of the family.  She would ask Thelma about me constantly and every time like she yearned knowing me.  You could feel the love for me (Thelma would hang up the phone and say she talks about you more than me).   Must have made her happy to know that Thelma and I have a great relationship.  

                   Well, yes I loved her for the time I have met her.  You would see her glee in her face when I came over to her house and of course she had to cook a special meal like the best tasting ox tail stew that I would sit there and eat until I was fed for three days.  Oh she was a great cook as I had heard.  Meals at her house was experiences of a lifetime.  And naturally I had to try to impress her with my cooking - as she had heard.  Like the time I did a paella in BBQ or a came home with a huge red snapper - her favorite fish I heard.  So it was mutual our relationship.  And we did have a great time together.  Her house was vacation to another world of pleasure.

                        I understand her life was immensely difficult at times, but obviously happiness was always mixed in.  Through it all great things were accomplished by you and Mr Guevara.  In the end, that’s the definition of a great person of character and achievement.  Your life was a long traveled road to the rainbow, but along the way her experiences made a remarkable woman.  Its to be proud.   Hope family learns from her legacy and runs with it.

As the oldest daughter, I feel fortunate , for being able to recall my mother & father  during a younger stage of their lives;  playful, listening to their music every morning on the weekends, the wonderful aromas of my mother cooking the enormous food platters she made special for my Father, the way they often communicated with each other through songs, whether they were being romantic or picking on one another.   I remember how beautiful and fashionable my Mother was, skirts, dresses, heels, bell bottoms, handbags; strong but feminine, modern yet traditional.  I saw her as a great mother, a loving wife,  equally strong, they were a pillar of strength to each other.  I can recall as a child how she would dress us up on the first warm day and take us out shopping walking through outdoor  markets in Elizabeth,  I recall the smell & warmth of the spring breeze on my face as a child; the delight of just being outside, & feeling utterly happy with something so small.  I recall how friendly she was to everyone in our path, she easily started conversations.  She had various facets to her personality; strong willed, independent, sentimental, jealous, a true fire ball with a  sense of humor & sharp wit.  She instilled in us strong values, and a fierce stare was enough to make us shake in our shoes  even in our 30's & 40's.  I thank her  for everything she taught me.  Among the things I hold most deer are  the importance of family, compassion, appreciation for music, good food, tradition, good work ethic, “ don't wait to be asked, if you see something you can help with... you do it”  she called this attribute "Advertida" ,or quick to be helpful. I  assure you each of my sisters & myself use this quality in our careers & day to day lives.  She had a healthy ambition to reach higher, a love for beautiful things &  not apologetic for  wearing her Bling!  She has left her legacy deeply imprinted in this world .  I believe we will reunite but miss her immensely.

Estoy escribiendo esto diciendo adios a mi adorada esposa con quien tuve la dicha de vivir los años más felices de mi vida. Dios por fin quiso liberarla del sufrimiento tan grande que vivió durante el tiempo de su enfermedad, es por eso que creo que al contrario, este momento debe ser de gozo porque su alma por fin se liberó de ese cuerpo lleno de sufrimiento y dolor que la tenía atada.  Ahora su alma vuela gozosa hacia el más allá a reunirse con Dios y sus seres queridos que se adelantaron en este viaje sin retorno. 
Nuestros años de matrimonio fueron una aventura en la que viajamos entre risas y a veces algunas rabietas,  pero siempre unidos. Cómo olvidar sus travesuras como cuando una vez para verme escaló un muro a través de un árbol porque su mamá la tenía encerrada,  o cuando recién casados fue corriendo a casa de su mejor amiga a pedir ayuda para aprender a planchar mis pantalones que eran casi de su tamaño; los viajes por tierra desde New Jersey a El Salvador en un viejo camión y sus pleitos con los agentes aduaneros, el regreso en un Volkswagen Beetle de El Salvador hasta Los Ángeles y de Los Ángeles a New  Jersey con nuestras dos hijas pequeñitas y ella en estado de la menor, o también cuando fuimos a la puerta del diablo en San Salvador y nos dejó el último autobús y regresamos en la parte trasera de un viejísimo pickup truck y ella en vez de enojarse comenzó a cantar alegremente con su maravillosa voz . Por eso y por toda la dicha que a su lado viví a través de mi vida, estaré eternamente enamorado de ella.
 Este no es un adiós sino un hasta nuestro reencuentro mi amor.

No existen las palabras para expresar el dolor y vacio que siento. Se me fue mi muñequita linda, la única persona en el mundo que siempre me quiso con todo corazón, me consintió, cuido, y aprecio. Desde pequeña me cosintio con naranjas en flor y de grande con mi ensalada de frutita y comidita para que no me pusiera muy flaca. Siempre me cuido para que no fuera de mal camino. Le  doy gracias a Dios por una mami tan buena y inolvidable. Por ella tengo mi sentido de humor, el deseo de ser bondadosa, amor a todas creaturas y Animalitos, y la vocecita que siempre me guía y dice “pórtate bien que nada te cuesta”. 
No fue solo mi mami, si no también mi amiga,  íbamos de compras a broad st, macys, outlets, todos los dias a las ocho en punto  mirábamos  Don Cheto, me cantaba, y cada momento chabacaniabamos.   En sus últimos días que le costaba hablar  con señas de sus manitas lindas me hacía gestos para hacerme reír. Hacia de algo simple como ir al súper mercado algo especial.  Y por eso me va a ser tanta falta, todas la cosas cotidianas ella  las hacía especial. 

Mi muñequita linda Todos los días sentiré su sonrisa y su cariño; escucharé  un eco divino envuelta en la brisa decir… te quiero mucho, mucho, mucho, mucho, tanto como entonces siempre hasta morir.

La voy a querer más allá de morir para eternidad , no me aguanto para el dia que nos reunamos para darle en abrazo fuerte y besito grande.

Mi querida Zoilina,

Fue una magnífica abuela, ejemplar miembro Polanco y un modelo de fortaleza a seguir. Su virtudes y amor hacia mi siempre estará en mi corazón.  La recuerdo con mucho alegría y cariño. Su risa pícara vivirá en mi. 

Espero reencontrarnos en un futuro ya que necesitaré una buena despiojada.
