Barbara L. Merrill

Durham- Barbara L. Merrill 61, of Durham died Monday May 7, 2012, from PSP (Progressive Supranuclear Palsy), at her home with her loving family at her side. She was born in Augusta on July 21, 1950 a daughter of Herbert and Elizabeth (Miller) Cornish. She was educated in local schools and graduated from Lisbon high school class of 1968. Barbara married the love of her life Lawrence(Archie) Merrill on September 1, 1968 and together they started to raise their four children. Barbara worked for many years at Eastland shoe. She enjoyed shopping and being outdoors especially at the beach. She also enjoyed the company of her two dogs Smokey and Princess. She leaves her husband of 43 years Archie Merrill of Durham, her parents Herbert and Elizabeth Cornish of Lisbon Falls, a daughter Laurie Belanger and her husband Roland of Lisbon, three sons Paul Merrill of Durham and his fiancé Elizabeth Parent of Lisbon Falls, Jerry Merrill and significant other Cari Keller of Durham, and Kevin Merrill and his wife Christina of Durham, a sister Andrea Cornish of Lisbon Falls, a brother Bill Cornish and wife Sandra of Deerfield Beach Fl, eleven grandchildren: Erica, Aaron, Megan, Kayla, Kristopher, Tanner, Robyn, Jacob, Ryan, Nicholas, and Mia, a niece Amber, a nephew Beau, and many aunts uncles and cousins.
