1940 - 2011

Auburn Bruce L. Wood Sr. 70, of Ballpark Rd. Sabattus died Thursday February 3, 2011 with his family at his side at The Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice. He was born in Lewiston on February 19, 1940 a son of the late Frank and Iva (Burgess) Wood Sr. He graduated from Edward Little High School class of 1959.

Bruce married the love of his life, Dawn on December 8, 1962. He worked for Salter Corp. as a carpenter and later retired from the maintenance dept of Bates College. Bruce enjoyed spending time on his boat on Richardson Lake fishing and camping with his wife and grandchildren. Bruce also loved hunting. Bruce spent many hours restoring old cars with his sons. His family was his life, he enjoyed many family gatherings, he loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren and looked forward to seeing them as often as possible. He leaves his wife of 48 years Dawn of Sabattus, two sons Bruce L. Wood Jr. and his wife Kerry of Sabattus and Michael Wood and his wife Sarah of Buckfield, a daughter Heidi Spencer of Sabattus, three brothers; Frank Wood Jr. of Gray, James Wood and his wife Louise of Sabattus and Walter Wood and his wife Joan of Sabattus, four sisters; Ruth Wheeler of Sabattus, Judith Chateauvert and her husband Conrad of Greene, Julia Shnur and her husband Morris of Sabattus and Joan Tancrel and her husband Jerry of Sabattus, 8 very special grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
