Brunswick - Charles S. "Chuck" Baker, age 67 and resident of Summer
St. in Lisbon Falls, died suddenly and unexpectedly on Saturday
afternoon March 10th at Parkview Medical Center with family at his
side. He was born in Bay Shore Long Island, NY February 8, 1945, a son
of Robert E. and Lillian F. (Friou) Baker. At a young age, his family
moved to Pennsylvania and Chuck grew up and went through school in
Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Following high school, he graduated from
Springfield College in Massachusetts with a degree in Physical
Fitness. On November 30, 1984 he married the former Melinda Woodbury
of Durham and had been a resident of Maine since 1984 and a resident
of Lisbon Falls since 1994.
Chuck first worked as Director of Fitness for the YMCA in Southington,
Ct. and later worked several years as a Director at Coastal
Transportation in Rockland, before joining RTP in Portland. as a
Director. He also worked a year with Tedford Shelter in Brunswick and
for 10 years delivered the Lewiston Sun Journal each day throughout
his neighborhood in Lisbon Falls.
He was a charter member and active at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Topsham.
Chuck was a very active and competitive person. He enjoyed sailing,
running, rowing and playing games. He liked encouraging all kids to be
active and enjoyed creating games and activities that would challenge
both a child's physical and intellectual being. He also liked
gardening, especially tending to his tomatoes and brussel sprouts,
cooking and exhibiting his culinary skills in the kitchen as well
making his own maple syrup. He sang played the guitar and accordion.
He had a generous heart and was a gracious, loving, devoted and
hard-working husband, father, grandfather and brother who was dearly
loved and will be sadly missed by family and friends. He was an
incredible father and an amazing man who will never be forgotten.
He leaves his wife and best friend of 33 years, Melinda Baker of
Lisbon Falls, his four children

several nieces and nephews.
Chuck was predeceased by his father Robert E. Baker.
