Cora died peacefully at her daughter and son-in-laws home in Bowdoin, Maine surrounded by her family and friends.
She was born in Boston, Massachusetts to Grace Wyman (Bridge) and Charles Emerson Wyman and had one sister, Janet Wyman Meade (deceased). She lived in Newton, Mass. throughout her childhood, graduating from Newton HS and attending one year of college at Lassell junior college.
She met her first husband Douglas H. Mugford while attending the Episcopal church in Newton and they were married for 60 years and raised their three children in the town of Wrentham, Massachusetts. After retirement they moved to Florida and lived in Pompano Beach for 18 happy years.
Cora worked at a variety of jobs to help support the family. She was a proficient bookkeeper and worked in banks, doing tax preparations and for several automobile dealerships. Once in Florida she went back to work as an administrative assistant for the local Mercedes Benz dealership where she was well loved and respected. Her favorite job was her years driving a school bus when her children were in school. She loved all her riders and was known to lead the children in singing along to the bus radio to keep them entertained.
Cora was active in the Episcopal Church in Wrentham and in Florida, singing in the choir and participating in church activities. She was a member of the New England Women on Wheels, a group of lifelong friends who spend a week in Martha's Vineyard riding bikes and going to the beach and engaging in humorous shenanigans. She was an avid Silver Sneakers member and was known to lead others in exercise programs. Cora enjoyed playing games, making personal cards for people, and connecting with others on her computer. She was passionate about music and spent many hours playing her piano and singing with family and friends at social gatherings. She adored her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and never missed an opportunity to attend graduations, birthdays, dance recitals and all special events. Cora loved animals and was never without a cherished dog, cat, or both throughout her life.
Following the death of Douglas in 2013, she moved to Maine and lived with her daughter Karen and son in law Timothy Flynn. She saw an advertisement for a dating site and decided to try Match.com, where she met Edwin Wolkoff. They married on Christmas day in 2015 beside the Christmas tree with their children and grandchildren and great grandchildren present for the festivities.
