Crystal Mae Webster

1922 - 2011

Brunswick - Crystal Mae Webster, age 89, of 116 Soper Rd. in Durham, passed away Thursday morning May 26th at Parkview Hospital with family at her side. She was born in Waldoboro, Maine May 22, 1922 a daughter of Emery and Avis (Cromwell) Post. Crystal was educated in Harmony schools and graduated from Harmony High School with the class of 1940. Following high school she studied five years at Chestnut Hill Bible School in New Hampshire. Following her marriage to Carl R. Webster on April 16, 1947 at Shiloh Chapel in Durham, she operated Maples Nursing Home with her husband for 12 years, then worked for a number of years at Worumbo Mill. Crystal later worked as a cook at Merepoint Rd. Nursing Home for five years and then spent her last several working years in the kitchen at Parkview Hospital until her retirement. Crystal was a devoted and longtime member of Shiloh Chapel and at one point early in her marriage, and as new parents, she and her husband Carl lived and worked as caretakers on the Yacht Coronet in Portland for five years as they began to raise their new baby girl Anne.

Among her favorite enjoyments were spending fun times with her family at Wolfneck State Park in Freeport and reading Christian fiction. Crystal was a loving, devoted and hard-working wife, mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed.

She leaves her daughter Anne Aldrich and husband Floyd of Durham;

two grandchildren Amy Courage and husband George and Ryan Aldrich all of ma;

a brother Richard Post of St. Albans, ME and several nieces and nephews.

Crystal was predeceased by her husband Carl Webster, a sister Elizabeth Cheek and a brother H. Wesley Post.

Funeral notice: Webster, Crystal Mae 5/26/11. Visitation at the funeral home Sat. 6-8 pm. Funeral Service at Shiloh Chapel in Durham Sun. 2 PM. Committal and interment will take place Tues. 10 AM at Shiloh Cemetery.
