LISBON FALLS: Elizabeth (Betty) E. Damon, 93, of Lisbon Falls, passed away peacefully on Thursday January 23, 2014 at her home. She was born in Lisbon Falls, ME on July 12, 1920 a daughter of the late Peter and Elizabeth (Balog) Kenopensky. She grew up in the Lisbon Falls area and attended local schools there and attending Lisbon Falls High School. On October 15, 1938 she married the love of her life, Albert L. Damon at St. Cyril Church. They started a family together. From 1951 to 1962, Betty owned and operated Damon's Variety in Lisbon with her husband and later was employed at Pineland Hospital in Pownal. She was a member of the Eastern Star, Lisbon Legion Auxiliary Post 158, and a Charter & lifetime Auxiliary member of VFW Post 9459. She will always be remembered for her love of gardening, crocheting, and spending quality time with her family, friends and grandchildren. She is survived by her three children; Audrey (Sandy) Helie and her husband Bob of Broadbrook, CT, Carole Thomas and her husband Bill of Lisbon Falls, and William (Chuck) Damon and his companion Sherry Robinson of Lisbon Falls. She also leaves behind her grandchildren; Mike L. Helie and his wife Stephanie, Bryan Helie, Marc Thomas and his companion Rae Sanborn, Gayla Thomas and her partner Ellen Berry, Willie Damon, Kari Thompson and her husband Randy and a step-granddaughter Melissa Grover and her companion Mike Minnehan, as well as her great-grandchildren; Anthony, Ayven, Bobby and Brittany, step-great-grandchildren; Derek and Sierra, and her great-great-granddaughters Coriline and Emma Rae.. She will also be remembered by several nieces and nephews, two very special young boys, Bradley and Gabe, special caregiver friends Karin and Lisa, and her 18 year old dog, Gizmo. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Albert in 1996, 3 brothers, Andrew, Joseph and Michael and 3 sisters, Mary, Anne and Mary.
