June Louise Grondin

Auburn - June L. Grondin, 79, of Auburn left her broken body behind on Wednesday, March 31, 2010 to accept God’s offer of free room and board forever. She passed away peacefully with her daughter at her bedside after a short but courageous battle with multiple illnesses following the loss of her sister and Guardian Angel Vivian in January.

She was born June 5, 1930 in Lisbon, ME a daughter of Walter and Marie (Roberge) Williams. She attended schools in Lisbon and was most proud to have received her GED in 1984 at the age of 54. She had worked 10 years at the Farnsworth Mill, 3 years at the Worumbo Mill and most recently had worked for 28 years for M. Grumbacher Company retiring in June of 1995.

For the past two and a half years June lived at Clover Health Care in Auburn, where she made countless wonderful friends among the staff and residents. Many of them visited with her and shared their love for her in her final days. June participated in all of the social activities at Clover and served on the Resident Council. While she was able, she loved visiting with her family and taking fishing trips to Moosehead and Rangeley Lakes. She enjoyed music, making jigsaw puzzles, and watching the birds and squirrels outside her window. Although her world grew smaller during her last 5 years, her spirit was never diminished.

In addition to her sister, Vivian Burroughs, June was predeceased by her husband Larry Grondin.

June will be greatly missed by her daughter Laura Bosse and partner Scott Oliver of Lisbon, ME, her grandson Scott Bosse of Auburn, granddaughter Karen Curit of Lisbon Falls, and her three great-grandchildren, Brittney Monier, John Curit and Garrett Curit. She had a special relationship with her sister’s sons, Bill, Dave, Steve and Glenn Burroughs and their families. June also leaves behind several other nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held from 9-11 AM and 1-3 PM on Saturday, April 3, 2010 at Crosman Funeral Home, 40 Main Street, Lisbon Falls, ME. A funeral service will immediately follow at 3 PM with Pastor Pauline Powell of Pathway Vineyard Church as officiant. Interment will be held in the spring in Lisbon Center Cemetery.
