

Lorette Alice Goulette, 96, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2025, at the D'Youville Pavilion in Lewiston. Born on August 21, 1928, in Lewiston, Maine, she was the daughter of Albert and Leonida (Fontaine) Nadeau. Lorette was the eldest of twelve brothers and sisters, a role she cherished throughout her life.
On September 3, 1956, Lorette married the love of her life, Gerard Goulette. Together, they shared a lifetime of love and memories, raising a family and making their home a place of warmth and faith. Lorette was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She found great joy in spending time with her family and was always a steady presence in their lives.
She began her professional journey as a shoemaker for Cushman Shoe, where she honed her strong work ethic and attention to detail. Lorette later ran Bert's Catering alongside her beloved husband Gerard, where they built lasting relationships and served countless individuals with care and devotion. She concluded her working career at Bates College, where she worked in food service, providing nourishment and hospitality to students and staff alike.
A woman of deep Catholic faith, Lorette enjoyed reading the Bible and living according to her faith. She also found solace and enjoyment in reading, completing word puzzles, and playing solitaire. A frequent visitor to Bailey’s Island, she loved spending time there whenever she could. Lorette also had a special fondness for chocolate, which she made a part of her daily routine.
Lorette was predeceased by her parents, her beloved husband Gerard, her daughter Lisa Rines, as well as many of her siblings.
Lorette is survived by her daughter, Laurie Rhoades and her husband Tim; her son-in-law, Walter Rines III; her grandchildren Corey Bouyea and his wife Nichole, Aaron Bouyea and his wife Mehegan, Ashley Fuller and her husband Jason, Christina Behne and her husband Christopher, Walter IV, and Benjamin Rines and his wife Michaela; as well as her cherished 11 great-grandchildren Ella, Grace, Graison, Anna, Mayble, Kellan, Bronte, Charlotte, Abraham, Walter V, and Wesley. She also leaves behind her sisters Pauline Pinard and Therese Strout, as well as her brothers Ray Nadeau, wife Edna and Roger Nadeau.
Lorette’s family will miss her warmth, her faith, and the love she shared with them.
The family would like to thank the staff of D'Youville Pavilion 2 East for the wonderful care they gave to Lorette.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Holy Trinity Church at a later date.
