Michael Neil Raskin

On Monday, January 4, 2021, Dr. Michael Raskin passed away in Lisbon Falls, Maine. Dr. Mike was born September 16, 1945 and grew up in Morristown, NJ. He attended Lehigh University and earned his undergraduate degree from Fairleigh Dickenson University. He continued on to the University of Miami for his Master’s degree and San Diego State University for his Doctorate in Psychology. He moved to Maine in 1976, where he practiced clinical psychology. He had a big heart and a love of writing and cooking. He authored four books. He opened Dr. Mike’s Madness Café in Lisbon Falls. He is survived by his significant other, Connie Earl, her daughters, Susan Johnson and Jolene McKay, his brother Bob Raskin, and his niece, Robin Raskin-Jenkins. We are so sorry for the loss of our dear friend Dr. Mike. We have been friends since our college days at Fairleigh Dickinson University, many years ago. We are grateful to him for introducing us to each other. We will remember him as a person with a big heart and a good sense of humor. We will miss our trips to see him in Maine. I worked with Mike at Greystone Park Hospital when he first stated in his career in psychology. He was remembered for his sense of humor and commitment to working with the patients, He was a credit to the department and his profession.
