Auburn - Rebecca P. Gross, 56, of Auburn, passed away unexpectedly on July 1, 2012, at her home. She was born on December 28, 1955, in Washington D.C., a daughter of Burton (Bud) and Ramnona (Mona) Abbott Gross. She grew up in a military family and attended school in Virginia, Alaska and Maine, graduating in 1974 from Lisbon High School. She worked as a waitress at Willies Restaurant, Channel Marker Restaurant and Arizona Baron before moving to New Auburn where she worked for the Auburn Lunch Program at Sherwood Heights Elementary School. She also volunteered helping out with children, making big books for the teachers at Sherwood heights and working on art projects for Advocates for Children as well. She then worked at Roy's Foodland in the Deli section until retiring due to health problems. Becky's goal was to make others happy and to do good deeds. She "paid it forward" many a time. Those that knew Becky well will always remember her incredible courage and strength through her years of illness. She dealt with her bad days by having a positive attitude with a smile to share. Her grandsons gave her the will to go on many a time as she loved her time with them. Becky will be remembered for her baking, artistry, and sewing. She loved to share what she made with family and friends. She will always be remembered as a kind and loving person with great advice and guidance, but most of all Becky will be remembered for the great love for her daughter Alayna, her partner Derrick and her grandchildren Giovanni and Julian. Becky was a remarkable woman who truly will be missed. May she always be in the thoughts of those she touched and be forever in the hearts of the ones she loved. Rebecca is survived by her daughter Alayna Gross and her companion Derrick Favreau, her grandchildren: Giovanni Gross and Julian Favreau, two sisters: Cindy Brown and her husband Craig, and Joyce Rains and several nieces and nephews. As well as her best friend and kindred spirit Barbara Kazimer. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her brother Stephen Gross.
