

LEWISTON: Roland L. Pomerleau, 86, of Lisbon passed away Saturday August 8 at St. Mary's Hospital following a brief illness. He was born in Auburn on July 30, 1929 a son of the late Adolph and Yvonne (Harp) Pomerleau. He attended Auburn schools. When he was a teenager he moved from Auburn to Lisbon. At the young age of 14 he built the Shell station in Lisbon (now Angelo's Pizza) by hand himself. That was something that he was always very proud of. He and his father served the people of Lisbon for over 20 years at that station. On December 8, 1951 he married his sweetheart, Rosalie Knowlton and they started a family together. Also, for over 30 years Roland worked as a TV service repairman in the Lisbon area until he retired. He will always be remembered for his love of fishing and gardening. He also took great pride in tending to the grounds at St. Ann's Cemetery in Lisbon. He was very self sufficient and was a very loving and caring father and husband. He enjoyed watching the Red Sox and NASCAR racing. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Rosalie of Lisbon, his 14 children; Joseph and his wife Lou, Annette Kennedy and her husband Fred, Paul and his wife Sue, Raymond, Theresa James and her husband Richard, Kathleen Lord and her husband Jim, Jeannette, Robert, Marcel and his wife Maria, Armand and his wife Lisa, Dominique and his wife Chona, Jean and his wife Lucy, Eugene and his wife Beth and Christine Hunt and her husband Phil. He also leaves behind a sister, Cecile Chenard, a brother, Reho Pomerleau and many, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two children; Ronald and Pierre and a brother, Romeo. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday August 13 from 6-8pm at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Trinity Church on Friday August 14 at 11am followed by committal prayers at St. Ann's Cemetery.
