

Sabattus - Russell R. Levesque, 67, went to be with his Lord and Savior Friday morning January 30th at his home. He was born in Brunswick May 12, 1947, a son of Antoine and Louise (Normand) Levesque. Russ was educated in Brunswick schools and graduated from Brunswick High School in 1965. After graduation he joined the Navy and sailed the Mediterranean on an aircraft carrier. On February 14, 1975, he married Shirley Elvin. They have lived in Sabattus for the past 30 years. At the time of his passing, he was employed at Bath Iron Works where he worked for the past 40 years. Russ loved the Lord Jesus and had a strong faith. He and his wife Shirley were both active members of TNT Bible Ministries in Topsham and Russ was currently a member of the church's Prayer Team. Several years ago, he and Shirley participated in two Mission Trips through the church, first to the Dominican Republic, then Costa Rica. He was also a member of The American Legion, Sabattus Post. He loved being with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Russ was an avid sports fan and was also a competitive Cribbage player. He was a loving, devoted husband, father and grandfather who will be missed greatly. He leaves his wife Shirley Levesque, four children Mary Elvin, Dennis Elvin and wife Diane, Sharon Albert and companion David Cebula and Katie Carter and husband Ray; eight grandchildren Joshua, Ashley and Josiah Carter, Alivia Manson, Heidi Dunn, Angie Anderson, Hillary Titcomb and Ethan Elvin; 23 great-grandchildren; a sister Doris Leclerc and husband Maurice; a brother Tony Levesque and wife Donna, several nieces, nephews and cousins as well as a great many friends. He was predeceased by a granddaughter Mary Sharon Carter and his parents.
