Stan was born on March 18, 1941, in Sorrento, Maine to his loving parents Wellington and Lola Virginia (Dutton) Sargent. He grew up in Maine, served his country in the Air Force and eventually settled down in Connecticut where he married the love of his life, Sandy.
Together they had sons Doug and Greg and had a wonderful chapter in Ansonia, CT. Stan spent most of his career as a tractor trailer driver for UPS. He retired to Maine with Sandy and Doug in 1998 and lived a wonderful chapter with them in Orland until 2019 when Dougy passed away. Stan spent the rest of his life in Bowdoin, Maine with Sandy by his side and his son Greg in the same town.
With the help of family, friends and God, Stan overcame many medical and health hurdles and beat many odds over the years. He loved his life, loved being outdoors, loved puttering around with his tractor and tools and was kind to everyone he met.
Stan is survived by his wife Sandy; son Greg Sargent; daughter-in-law Jessica Sargent; grandchildren Isabella and Oliver; great granddaughter Athena; brothers Boyd, Dale and Phil; sister Pam and all his half brothers and sisters whom he loved.
Stan was preceded in death by his parents, his son Doug, his grandson Conner, his brother Pete, his sister Irene, his brothers-in-law Gus and Raymond; as well as many others who reunited with him in Heaven.
He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and everyone who knew him.
There will be a private Catholic graveside service in the coming days. A celebration of life will be announced to family and friends in the Spring.
