Alan Pieler, 74, of Lisle, passed away peacefully at home on July 7, 2020 of heart failure due to cardiomyopathy and atrial fibrillation. He was also dealing with disabilities from a hemorrhagic stroke suffered some years earlier. He was born in Chicago on February 22, 1946. He is survived by his wife Carol, his children Janna and Erik, and his brother George. Alan earned his Bachelor’s degree from Texas Christian University in political science and economics and later completed courses for two Master’s degrees. He taught at York High School, Elmhurst, IL in the social studies department for 30 years and his favorite part of teaching was coaching the law team and supervising mock trials. Alan’s hobbies included woodworking, gardening, and winemaking. One of his biggest accomplishments was remodeling and helping to build an addition to the family home. We will miss his sense of humor and his clever puns! E-gads!!
Visitation will be held on Wednesday July 15th from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home 5015 Lincoln Ave. Lisle, Illinois where services will be held at 11:00 Am.
