Anne R Silverstein, formerly Anne R Gizzi and nee Anna Rose Dymbrowski passed away suddenly but peacefully on June 3rd, 2022. Born in Chicago, IL on June 21st, 1931, the daughter of Alice Lederer and Sigmund Dombrowski, one of 10 children raised in Chicago’s back of the yards neighborhood. She is survived by her 3 children Karen (Gizzi) Honeycutt (Paul), Alec Gizzi (Karen), and Bernard Gizzi (Laura) along with 9 grandchildren; Lauren Gerard (Ian), Anna Gizzi, Joseph Gizzi (Lauren), Sarah Gizzi (Orland), Aaron Kloc (Kayla), Kelsey Brents (Trevor), Gianna Gizzi (Zeke), David Gizzi (Kelly), and Melyna Gizzi (Noah), and 8 great grandchildren (Bronson, Jeremiah, Everly, Tate, Adelyn, Nolan, Xander, and Liam).
Additionally, she is survived by two sisters, Deanne Olson (Jimmy), and Bernice (the late Joe) Konas.
She is preceded in death by her parents along with her first husband (Fiore Joseph Gizzi) and second husband (Irv Silverstein) and 7 siblings (Norbert, Frank, Red, Tom, Shirley, Alice, & June).
Anne loved many things in her 90+ years on this earth beginning with her love of family. Whether it was playing pinochle with her siblings, enjoying a Chicago BEARS game with her sons, or just being with her Great Grandchildren (which they affectionately referred to her as “GREAT GRANNY MA-ma”) Anne was deeply loved by all. Included in her rather large family is Danny Bernard Bell and life-long friends (Jerri, Carol Ann, and Diane). Anne learned how to golf (2 hole in ones), danced a mean jitterbug, loved a good glass of champagne, and controlled the family Christmas parties with a loud mic and iron fist, 😉.
She will leave this world a better place due to her wisdom, love, and kindness along with many famous phrases including “Everything in Moderation, including moderation,” and “I am a strong believer in what I believe in” along with her signature XOX!
Anne’s visitation will occur from 3PM to 8PM on Wednesday June 22nd at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home, 5015 Lincoln Ave (Rt 53), Lisle IL 60532. 630-964-9392, with a prayer service at 4PM.
