David Carl Hultgren, 73, threw off his mortal coil Saturday March 19th, 2016 at home with his family about him. Born in Chicago, February 09, 1943, Dad was the adopted son of Carl and Anne Hultgren of Oak Park. Dad attended Evergreen Park High School, graduating class of 1961, and spent a year at Eastern Illinois University before joining the Air Force in 1962.
He moved to Utah in 1963 and married Judy Kay Sewell that November. They welcomed three daughters, Karen (Jackson) San Antonio, Texas, Cheryl (Spangler) Ogden, Utah and Annette (Maughan) Chicago, Illinois. Dad spent his life helping others, working 7 years with a special needs church group. In his off-time and any other time, he would build model railroads and help ‘run the trains’ with his Utah Train Club; Hostlers. Just last year he and Mom were awarded Advocate of The Year for their work with the Epilepsy Association of Utah.
He will be missed by his dear wife, daughters and sons-in-law, sister and brother-in-law, 10 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren
We will say our final farewells to Dad Saturday March 26th 2016, in Ogden, Utah where he will be laid to rest.
