“Edie” spent her life dedicated to her husband, eight children, grandchildren, and her great-grandchild. She was kind, wise and had a deep faith. A Master Italian Chef, she was also very skilled at preparing various Lithuanian and American delicacies. She relished family events and served nearly two decades as PTO president and Cub Scout Den leader at Roosevelt School in Cicero, Illinois. Edith married her late husband, Vincent in 1949. The second youngest of 12 Cornacchia children, Edie grew up in the Little Italy section of Chicago’s near West Side. She will be greatly missed by everyone whose life she touched with her kindness and generous spirit.
Edith was the cherished mother of the late Joyce Fello (Michael), Gloria Langman (Michael), William Langman (Mary Ann), James Langman (Susan), Robert Langman (Yvonne), John Langman (Angela), Carol Cerney, Judy Jakuszewski (Robert), and Vincent J. Langman (Heather). Beloved grandmother of Robert, William, Julia, Jillae, Corban, Joseph, Matthew, Nicholas, Michael, Raymond, Alexis, Joyce, Jacob, Andrew, Robert, Chase, Karoline and Khloe. Her Great-grandson Wyatt was born in 2020. She was also a favorite Aunt and Great Aunt of many in the Cornacchia family.
Memorial Services were held on Friday, April 30, at 9:30 am at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home, 5015 Lincoln Avenue, Lisle, Illinois 60532. This service was limited to the immediate family. Internment: Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 1400 South Wolf Road, Hillside, Illinois 60162.
