Germaine “Gerry” Walker (98) passed away peacefully on July 29, 2025. Born August 25, 1926 in Lawrence, Nebraska, Gerry dedicated her life to creating a warm and nurturing home for her husband of 67 years, Donald, and their eight children.
Gerry's greatest joy came from spending time with her family and fostering a loving environment. Her homemade apple pies, deviled eggs and potato salad were legendary in the neighborhood, and her holiday gatherings were eagerly anticipated by family and friends alike. Gerry's love was evident in her hand-sewn clothes and gifts for her children and all the different hobbies and crafts she lovingly tended to throughout her life.
When her husband Donald passed, Gerry was told that, as a World War II war hero, he could be buried at Arlington National Cemetery. Gerry didn't hesitate and said, "Donald needed to be with all his comrades that he fought with to keep America free." Gerry will be buried with the love of her life, together again forever.
