Our beloved, Henry P. Tolentino, 88 years of age, of Downers Grove, Illinois passed away peacefully January 27, 2023, surrounded by his family and friends. He was born in the Philippines and immigrated with his wife and children to the United States in 1972.
Henry is survived and missed by daughters, Jane O. Tolentino and Jill O. Tolentino, grandson, Bobby Foreman, and great-grandchild, Annabelle Foreman. His loving wife, Emma O. Tolentino passed away in April 2003 and his son, Henry (Jay Jay) O. Tolentino preceded him in August 2014.
Forever cherished and remembered by his surviving siblings Grace T. Labayane, Elsa T. Estacio and Venus T. Berger.
He is reunited with loving relatives who passed away ahead of him and his memory lives on with many, many nieces and nephews who love him and countless friends and extended family who will miss him.
The simplest pleasures in life brought joy to Henry. He enjoyed his nightly shows including Fox News, Family Feud and Wheel of Fortune. He loved working in his garden and landscaping the yard. He will be remembered for great conversation, filled with laughter during countless shared meals with a glass of Merlot in hand. He loved listening to hymns as a source of comfort and healing. We take solace that he is now with the love of his life, catching up on lost time.
Henry believed that unless we lose ourselves to the service of others, there is little purpose to our own lives. He joined medical missions to the Philippines and volunteered in Downers Grove feeding the homeless. Both Henry and Emma were known for their generosity with family and friends.
His legacy will carry on reminding us to celebrate the good in life and to count our blessings every day.
