Isabelle Marie Hess, 26, of Lisle, IL, passed away unexpectedly on June 30, 2024. She was a graduate of Naperville Central High School and Paul Mitchell the School in Lombard. She had the biggest heart, fierce passion, and an unstoppable free spirit.
Several years ago, Isabelle, or “Bella” as she liked to be called, was diagnosed with Myotonic Dystrophy, a degenerative muscle condition. Isabelle struggled most days with pain of some sort, often leaving her to sleep long hours. On good days, Isabelle would be making grand plans for her life, even if they would never be achieved. She loved her family, friends, her cat, Loki, whom she called her “son”, and her cat “niece” Gigi. She loved adventure, going out to dinner with friends, and watching fantasy shows and medical dramas. Isabelle was a beautiful, complicated, and wonderful girl who will be deeply missed and forever in our hearts.
She is survived by her loving mother Elizabeth (nee Barnes) Hess; dear siblings William Hess and Grace Hess; cherished grandmother Eileen Barnes; beloved aunt Mary Barnes; special uncles Robert (Joanna Sutton) Barnes and John Vinton; and wonderful cousins Amelia Wilkemeyer, David Wilkemeyer, Monica Ritz (Stefan), Dean Vinton, Elena Vinton, and Anna Beth Vinton.
She is preceded in death by, her father Melvin Hess, her aunt Michele Vinton (nee Hess), and her uncle Marvin Hess.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 12:15 p.m. at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home, 5015 Lincoln Ave. Lisle, IL 60532. Interment private.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Myotonic Dystrophy Foundation in memory of Isabelle.
