Joanna was a best friend during a window in both our lives when we needed someone. I remember while walking together on a fall day I was rushing to find leaves to crunch under foot and she told me she thought she was the only one who liked to do that! It was then she also confided in me that she had prayed for a friend for a long while and then God sent me along. I was humbled to be an answer to her prayer. Joanna supported me in countless ways, even leaving the church of her youth to join me for 6 years at another church in Lisle. We were part of a small group together and became strong sisters in Christ. She was the God-mother to my younger daughter, who I was surprised to have later in life. Joanna showed a spirit of quiet unobtrusive love, a tender spirit, and always a sincere smile and hug. I loved her deeply and will always hold a very special place tucked away in my heart for her. Joanna, I know you are content in heaven now! Thank you for loving me and mine!
