

Lois McMahon was known as many things to many people. She was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew her best, Lois will be remembered as a very exceptional person.
She was the daughter of Warren and Ruth Seidler. Lois grew up in the Southside of Chicago.
A typical teenager, Lois had a fairly happy high school experience, making that critical transition from adolescence to adulthood. She enjoyed some classes more than others, having favorite subjects and teachers.
Always considered a “good” friend to those she knew, Lois enjoyed a broad group of acquaintances and several very close friends during her lifetime. While growing up, some of her best friends were Danny and Priscilla. Later in life, she became friends with Joe and Jeanette Noel, as well as with Pat and Ron Neukirch. Lois also enjoyed her lady friends at work.
On March 2, 1960 Lois exchanged wedding vows with James J McMahon at Trinity Lutheran Church of Virginia. Empathic and loyal, Lois was committed to making her new family happy.
Lois worked hard to be a good mother to her children and she did her best to fulfill their needs. Lois was blessed with four daughters, Cindy, Dori, Michelle, and Suzanne. Another blessing for Lois was the gift of seven grandchildren, Abby, Jillian, Dane, Mia, Megan, Jessica, and Lauren.
Fortunately, Lois enjoyed what she did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, Lois worked diligently and did her best to succeed in her career. Her primary occupation was in banking. She was employed for over 20 years at Harris Bank. Lois always sought to be a team player, doing what was necessary in order to get the job done.
Lois enjoyed her leisure time by taking part in various hobbies. Her favorite pursuits were reading. She was content to enjoy her favorite pastimes alone but was also willing to share her interests with others.
Lois enjoyed traveling and time away on vacations. It was a chance for her to renew and relax, to visit new places and experience new things. Favorite vacations included Monterey and Carmel, CA.
Lois was a lover of animals and cherished her pets. One of her favorites were cats.
When Lois’s retirement finally arrived in January 1, 2004, she was well prepared. Even in retirement, Lois continued to stay in touch with her old friends while making plenty of new acquaintances. Lois was active in her new community and felt fulfilled with the opportunities retirement offered her.
Lois passed away on July 22, 2013 at Tabor Hills, Naperville, IL. Lois fought a brave battle against cancer and multiple sclerosis. She is survived by her husband, children, and grandchildren. Services were held at St. Irene's church in Warrenville, IL. Lois was laid to rest in Assumption Cemetery Wheaton, IL.
Simply stated, Lois was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by her family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Lois leaves behind her a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life she touched will always remember Lois McMahon.
